I've played on a simple 12 note wine glass board before and this is possible but EXTREMELY hard. If your fingers are conditioned just right and the glasses are high quality, I can see how you might be able to get such a quick action on the notes....but Jesus Christ. Not easy.

@TENNSUMITSUMA if you notice, it is set up in a very specific way. It isn't random. Look where he plays and hear the different pitches on each glass he plays. The big glasses on his left, and the small on his right. It is a simple concept.

@lincsposter Yeah I know playing this live is extremely difficult and making it sound that beautiful takes a whole lot of practice. I didn't know they were that prestigious, and that only adds to how much I appreciate this piece. I didn't necessarily think that the fireworks with the cannon and the bells were bad, I personally wasn't feeling it at that moment.

Comments about "the fat guy playing the trombone" and criticism about the conductor show an obvious lack of knowledge and maturity with the writers. The guy in the audience sneezing - the members of the orchestra and conductor overcame that, with their professionalism. I wonder if these people with sarcastic comments even played in an orchestra or performed the 1812. It's a masterpiece and intense to perform (I've been there). Kudos to this performance! Shame on you, you critics!

@Agares Unfortunately I cannot find anyone selling the Cincinnati Pops version of this piece of music on the web. And as for the effects.. er... basic physics... sound and light travel at different speeds and when recorded and rerecorded and then added to You Tube there may be "out of syc" effects... indeed I would be suspicious if it was not! But please send your comments to Sir Mark Elder... I am sure he will respond in a totally professional manor!

GOOD music is slipping away and getting replaced with absolute crap. And One Winged Angel isn't by the Black Mages, it's by Nobuo Uemetsu who wrote it for FF7. The Black Mages is his band that has two lead guitarists, a rhythm guitarist, bassist, insane drummer, and Nobuo of his 4 teared keyboard.
